1955 Mercedes-Benz W196 R

The #8 W196 R, the first fuel injected F1 car, was driven by Juan Manuel Fangio during his championship 1955 season. Sporting a 2497 cc inline eight cylinder engine, producing 290 HP and a maximum speed over 190 mph. Fangio drove chassis 13 to victory at the 1955 Dutch Grand Prix, and a second place finish at Monaco and Aintree.
